Hospital

The acute care hospital is expected to be built in two phases, with a first phase of up to 186 beds. It will be a general community hospital with a full range of services including obstetrics, surgery and general medicine. In addition, it will provide much-needed emergency department access.

The hospital will also have a helipad to accept critical patients and allow for the transfer of patients who are in need of more specialized services such as trauma care, burns or cardiac surgery.

There is also a planned second phase of the hospital that will allow it to add another 100 beds (for a total of 286) as the community continues to grow. It is hoped that by the time the second phase of the hospital is built it will be able to provide even higher levels of care to allow the area to receive most of its care in its own community.
